The Curtain Opens... Poem by Talisa Dee Whitmore

The Curtain Opens...

Rating: 5.0

the curtain opens
the lights go down
the pianist hits a key
a chord plays
note by note
she sings her first lime
the pianist speeds up
a spotlight goes to center stage
the girl starts dancing
ballet
this is her dream
she sings as she dances
the rhythm of her feet
they hit the floor
aligned with the piano's beat
her feet leap off the floor
they land across the room
her lyrics come out hushed
the words stop
she stops moving
the spotlight goes down
the lights turn on
she's gone

the waking dream, the lights came on when she woke, from the curtain opening misadventure, or the ride rollercoaster runaway dream... dreams are not just ambitions, they are keys to our soul
