The Curve Of You Poem by Lola Sanchez

The Curve Of You

the curve of your shoulder
is reminiscent of comfort,
a trusted hide-away
where one can cuddle into,
forget the world
and just be.

the comfort your heartbeat brings
combined with the assurance of your sleep-breathing
soothes my mind and heart of all possible worries

as if these small comforts of who you are
are a type of anesthetic,
the day, week or month of work, life and the daily grind
slips away into an abyss

your hand that slips from my shoulder
to the curve my hips draw in the air
wipes away the grit of the city
the daily pessimism

the breath of your sleep that falls onto my ear
finds its way into the canals of my mind
reminding me of days that have past
in bliss and longing
and of days to come
it blows like a strong wind
through my minds eye
swirling away any doubts or fears
