The Cynic Poem by Barry Middleton

The Cynic

Rating: 4.0

Life is filled with honest men breeding disaster
from simple solutions and good intentions.

Love is a hasty decision based on limited
evidence and extremely poor advice.

Children are the means by which mistakes
are passed from one generation to the next.

I like the way you present things from a cynical point of view. These days its easier to be a cynic than an optimist.

Unfortunately this is true - it's easier to be a cynic than an optimist.

Thanks for posting your poem Barry. I guess Middleton is too widespread a surname to hope for a link with author and poet, .Richard Middleton ('The Ghost Ship', etc.) .

No known link to Richard but who knows. I claim Kate as a cousin but no one will believe my lie. LOL

Thank you Sofia. I was somewhat reluctant about posting this poem. Nice to see that someone read it and gave it such a high rating.
