The Daemon Poem by Midnight Phantom

The Daemon

As i walk to the doorstep,
my heart beating loud
'who ever would be at my doorstep? '
i wondered outloud

When i reached for the handle,
my senses screamed with fear
'you must run away from here!
i sense darkness is near! '

I stupidly egnored my senses,
although what i saw,
sent shivers down my spine
and this is what i saw

full of hatred, and an old desire
although it looked like a sweet little girl
her image changed, as her smile unfurled

As i watched her smile unfurl
it changed right infront of my eyes
into a daemon as red as fire
with hatred in its eyes

Although for a minute
i thought i saw,
grief in its eyes
maybe caused by war

And from that moment,
it changed my life
for every time i look in the mirror
i see..

'Eyes like flames dancing in a fire
full of hatred, and an old desire...'
