The Dance Poem by Pat Kunisch

The Dance

Keep the world outside
Keep it far away
Let not indifference creep into
This glorious hideaway
Where smiling faces save their charm
And laughter ripples free
Let not cold voices
Strike their mark
Upon this hour of glee

Keep the world outside
Keep it far away
Come join me for a little while
To the celebrate the day
The music plays of sweet romance
With drums and strings and brass
Come sway with me
Come dance with me
Upon this floor of glass

Keep the world outside
Keep it far away
See candlelight shine in the night
To guide our golden way
Oh feel the beating pulse of life
Enwrapped within our arms
Across the room
Our spirits soar
To heights beyond the stars

Keep the world outside
Keep it far away
Let the splendor of these moments
Be not just for today
Within my dreams each night I’ll see
You standing by the door
A bow from you
A nod from me
A dance around the floor

That dancing on a glass floor is interesting.
