The Dark Poem by cort hasper

the dark is a scary place
it can consume you if you don't have light
it can hide dangers that you can never imagine
it can hide the light of day and kill all hope
the dark is a scary place
you can lose yourself in it and never be able to find yourself again
and evil lurks within it ready to take you within its evil clutches
it can slowly kill you if it takes you within its clutches
i use to think the dark was a scary place until i met you
you saved me from the darkness from which i was afraid of
you gave me light and hope the tomorrow will be a brighter day
you made me realize that i can fight the evils of darkness and that you will be right beside me helping me and protecting me
so now i will no longer be afraid of the dark and i will hold my head up high in confidence that i will no longer be in danger of being consumed by the darkness
