now the day is over
and we come confessing
to he that saves and heals
softly now the light of day
comes fading before our eyes
we have withnessed the beauty
of your creation in the day
but now that the night is here
its your blessings we seek
draw we the weary closer to you
let us each your love possess
with your tender blessings
may our eyelids close
through the long dreary night
may your angels over us watch
that when the morn finally comes
we may still be holy in thy sight
