The Devil Inside Poem by zara williams

The Devil Inside

You make a promise,
stick to it for a few weeks,
you get to point where,
a smile forms between your cheeks.

You don't self harm at all,
you feel like it's done,
then you have that bad day,
you're back to stage one.

You hought you were free,
but your soul belongs to the devil,
once again he pulls you down,
your back on his level.

You feel like a disappointment,
so you don't tell a soul,
you just pull out a new blade,
watch the blood start to fall.

A couple of weeks go by,
you're back to your old way,
your wrists remained hidden,
never to see the light of day.

Your friends start to notice,
they beg for you to tell,
you were so happy and free,
but now you're back in your shell.

Th devil inside you,
you can't hide from it,
time for it to end,
just one more slit.
