The Devils Laugh Poem by Wishing For Perfection

The Devils Laugh

The devil sits in the corner
as i sleep at night.

he haunts my dreams
watching as i twist and turn
waiting for me
to wake up with tears running down my face.

my pillow has gone from white to black
stained with eyeliner and mascara.
its no longer comfy and dry
like it use to be.

These nightmares
put me in hysterics
i wake up sobbing
shaky and sweaty

if only you knew....
how bad they really got.

Last night
I was alone in the dark
i was scared
looking for someone to love
There was no one.
i wandered around for hours
looking, searching for someone
anyone at all.
there was no one.

he laughed at me
when i woke up shaking.

Two nights ago
I killed myself
Not once
Not twice
three times.
The first time
a knife to my wrist
The second time
alcohol and pills
the third time
with a noose.

he laughed at me
when i woke up in hysterics.

Three nights ago
I was raped
over and over
I tried to scream
but there was no sound
all i could see
was his evil smile
all i could hear
was his voice
telling me
'it will all be ok'

he laughed at me
when i woke up sobbing.

Night after night
i wake up to see the devil
with that smirk on his face
he is happy now that im up
and my mascara is running.
I try to ask why
but he just laughs...

that laugh i hear after every dream
that laugh thats shakes me with fear.
that devils laugh.
