The Disagreement. Poem by Rachel Loveday

The Disagreement.

If one person judges you
And says that you are wrong
You can justify your actions
Your confidence is strong

two people disagree with you
A growing doubt is made
The stitching of your confidence
 becomes a little frayed

You call another person
To come to your defence
And hope that they will stand by you
On your side of the fence

Although they'd like to join you there
They see that your alone
The other side, the majority
Is where they feel at home

Some others sit upon the fence
With no opinion of their own
And only in a whisper,
Will they let their feelings known.

Your mistaken if you start to think
You must apologise
Your opinions are still valid
To the friendly and the wise

You can justify your actions
And you walk in your own shoes
Then don't fear those folks who disagree
And yourself you'll never loose

Often it takes just one good friend
To come and stand with you
For the hundred people who disagree
To Seem but just a few

A friend pulls down the ugly fence
You doubt yourself no more
Without the fence to make two sides,
There really is no war
