The disposable rock bands of yesterday

The Disposable Rock Bands Of Yesterday

Here we are: The latest thing, another band, another song,
Another chorus for you to sing, so come on now children, sing along.

The Disposable Rock Bands Of Yesterday,
so soon forgotten, just tossed away.
The songs they release go down in flames,
no more cheers, so no more fame.
The Disposable Rock Bands Of Yesterday,
will come and go again and again.

That band we loved just yesterday,
a figure of ridicule, a simmered flame.
Those songs that sounded all the same,
those songs of hurt, those songs of pain.
They felt our fears, they heard our cheers,
but were will they be this time next year?

The Disposable Rock Bands Of Yesterday,
so soon forgotten, just tossed away.
The songs they release go down in flames,
no more cheers, so no more fame.
The Disposable Rock Bands Of Yesterday,
will come and go again and again.

Oh no, times up! I guess we’re fucked,
no fame no more, I guess we suck.
They loved us then, they love them now,
we are the sacrificial cow.
We want it back, give us more fame,
I can't cope, with being just another name.

Where are the fans we used to have?
That new band stole them, lets get them back.
We'll release a new song, just like the last one,
They liked it then, they can't have forgotten.

The Disposable Rock Bands Of Yesterday,
so soon forgotten, just tossed away.
The songs they release go down in flames,
no more cheers, so no more fame.
The Disposable Rock Bands Of Yesterday,
will come and go again and again.

The song we released went down in flames,
no more cheers so no more fame.
That catchy riff that lead the way,
they loved that song, they loved the way,
The words meant something, we truly believed,
that we were truly going to be,
The next Nirvana, the next Marilyn Manson,
Instead we look and sound like Hanson.

Poem of the Day

poet Sara Teasdale

I thought of you and how you love this beauty,
And walking up the long beach all alone
I heard the waves breaking in measured thunder
As you and I once heard their monotone.
