The Divided Sea Poem by KUNAL SETH

The Divided Sea

Trying to figure the combination
That unlocks your mind
Like the canary from the islands
Easier it sounded when written on sand
Overrated pieces of rocks letting the waves seep in
Waves beating themselves deaf
Looking for some new speech
To interpret the not understood

Tides of unfathomable arguments
Consumed with discreet judgment of what lies beneath
The color of the sea my favorite blue
Then why do I feel it in bloom?
Loose threads teasing the shore
The leftover of the moment
When we knew it all

You submerged yourself in that search
I emerged from the formidable deluge
Floating away with the winds of change
Struggling to claim what belongs to me
Saw your face for the last time
Eager and drifting away
A thin line of horizon
Pointing at the abysmal bliss
That divided this sea where we existed in a myth.
