The Dna Of A Lawyer Poem by Cynthia Fielding

The Dna Of A Lawyer

I once worked for a firm of lawyers
and they were the slimiest employers
and none of them could be trusted
all the partners spied on each other
and stabbed their colleagues in the back
if it would make them look better!

They bill for every little thing
and will push you to take on cases
that you have no chance of winning
but that will rack up their fees
in divorce cases or industrial disputes

So no none of this is a surprise
just look how many MP's are ex lawyers!

The thing which we should pick up on
in all of this is
- no surprise

Through the enquiries into Hillsborough,
Iraq,
payment for peerage enquiries,
lies about the EU,
policing at our expense for Bilderberg meetings,
undercover policing of the Lawrence family,
nothing happening about MPs expenses,
the NHS management
and cynical cover-up culture,
profligacy on spending for the MoD
but not our soldiers

...add your own items to this never ending list

through all of these things,
what is revealed is that the incompetence,
malpractice and corruption
is rife throughout the 'establishment'

Our civil service is an out of control entity
which is genetically incapable
of reducing in size and cost
and which has self-preservation
by any means
built into its DNA

Of course it is vital to silence the critics
- or characterise them as swivel-eyed loons
