The Dream In The Journey Poem by Rajesh Kumar Vaid

The Dream In The Journey

Rating: 5.0

As the train lumbered along the craggy path,
And the sounds of chug smothered the engine sloth,
The tree branches, from the window canvas,
Could be seen spreading in a thoughtful pause

The slope of the green mingled in the park,
The dots of the sheep and the shriek of the lark,
A sudden rush of land on up and a swift turn sharp,
Smell of wet earth dripping into a long tunnel dark

The wait for the light to rise from side!
Close clangoring of wheels, to slowly subside,
The journey of life as if struggle is rife
The channel is left, free, with a whistle deride

The run of the wheel, the circle of life,
Juggernaut moves on the river, floating glide
The clang of the metal with the steely resolve,
The bridge passes grief and the fears dissolve

The shades of the field and the thatched smoke dusk,
The dust and the cattle settling, a whiff of musk,
The yellow dots of lights, far and wide, come close,
The town is waiting for the daily human dose

The stop with a start and my eyes and ear are smart,
The din of colony hits my senses like a dart
The hush and the push and the sigh and the slush
The dream in the journey, passed, city is here to crush!

The poem is Ok with rhyming but many a places it seems jagged with burden of parade! Surely I have felt a feeling of contrast between the freshness of countryside as seen from atrain window with a reverie, however, the sudden reality of our cities is what we end up with.

A Bridge between reality and the dream. Through that train, you were able to see a lot, images and places that blend in the mind to create a wonderful, realistic, dreamy scene. Wonderful poem!
