The Edge Poem by Rachel Brewer

The Edge

Your thoughts are dark and twisted,
I don’t know how your mind works.
Your ways are cruel and harmful,
Hurting everyone and everything in your path.
How does your brain function?
I mean dude, you’re seriously messed up!
Do you understand what you’re doing?
I wonder.
Do you know the difference between right and wrong?
I would like to listen to you and study your thoughts,
Because you really are very intriguing.
I want to know your ways,
And look into your soul.
Teach me all you know,
And then tell me the reasons why.
Take me on a journey through you,
Let me discover your true self,
Take me to the brink of madness.
So open up and let me in,
I’m sure you need a friend?
Maybe you’d just like someone to talk to,
And listen to your problems.
So if you take me on this journey,
I promise I will follow you,
I will follow you to the edge of madness,
But I’m letting you know now,
Take me to the edge,
But do not push me over.
