The Effects Of Words Poem by Lento Maez

The Effects Of Words

The effects of words on human souls
Can rake the best of us through coals
The writer’s intent may be sublime
To the uninitiated this may not be fine
The intent of the writer is not to hurt
It may just be a warning to be alert
But in the end it is the reader’s psyche
That may misunderstand and be likely
To reach the wrong conclusion
Due to their mistaken illusion

Yeah I get this, It always sucks when that happens. Recently It happened to me in my poem about pseudonyms. That's the thing about poetry though, Its so open to interpretation, the best you can do is try to lead the reader's minds in the right direction. I must point out though, in these lines: That may misunderstand and be unlikely To reach the wrong conclusion you probably meant to write: That may misunderstand and be likely* To reach the wrong conclusion regardless, well done~ ~Nika
