The End Is In Sight Poem by Andrew Close

The End Is In Sight

And so we come to the end.
When the curtain falls,
And the last post calls,
When the whistle blows,
And the red light glows,
Yes, the end is in sight

And now we look back on our life, my friend.
All the hearts and all the smiles,
All the roads over so many miles,
All the hopes and all the fears,
All the pain throughout the years,
Will end for once tonight.

If I could ask but one thing to lend?
Id ask for just one more precious day,
Id ask for time to say all I must say,
Id ask for your heart to be forever mine,
Id ask for just one heavenly sign
To let my spirit take flight.
