The End Of The Road Poem by robert keaty

The End Of The Road

On this day, our thoughts are of you Mom,
The mother of twelve, grandmother of 31
Wife of one, and the architect
Of all that is us - your family.
You raised us from childhood
With dignity and compassion.

You were our introduction to pure love:
Unconditional love, binding,
Endless, incomprehensible love.
You lifted our souls in times of doubt,
Held firmly our hands in times of fear.
Quieted our minds in times of chaos.

But, mostly Mom, you were just there.
Always there, Always here.
The always present comfort of Mother.
Present in our hearts, minds,
Our Laughter, tears, joys and sorrows.

In your time of sickness, we found ourselves
To be your protector, your comfort,
A collective outreached loving hand.
Meant to hold you softly, lovingly,
Familiar - With remembrance.
The reversing condition of Mother and Child.
We are yours Mother, we are here,
Just like you were, always here.

Good-bye Sweet Angel! Fly free
Unrestricted from illness,
Unchained from the agonies of pain,
No wheelchair bounds you!
No bed contains you
No hunger....No thirst
Heaven beckons you Margie
SOAR......SOAR
But Mom, before you leave
THANK YOU
Simply, Truly

Thank You
