The End Of Time Poem by Ernestine Northover

The End Of Time

Rating: 4.1

If our bright sun declines to shine,
And the whole world in darkness sits,
The moon decides to thus resign,
And stars depart and daytime quits.
Then all the earth will barren be,
And so will come the end of time,
Could you in this void, still love me,
And would poets at last, run out of rhyme.

agreed with duncan you have a certain special quality when it comes to poetry, you remind me of Larkin in the way you rhyme... you are a special poet and are always always a joy to read..... it takes a special poet to manage to use words the rhyme wihout giving the impression that they are bieng used purely for the purpose of rhyme. you a one of the best on this site. best wishes vincent

Perhaps it'll be a good thing, no more mushy moon, star and sun poems. Loved the flow to this one. -chuck

A timeless theme... does love live on? Yes, in your poetry, love - and beauty - go on forever. Thank you, Ernestine. Esther, with love : ]

Ernestine, brilliant use of rhyme to exclaim your point. I hope we never see the end of rhyme (or time) . Great poem! Brian
