The Enemy Poem by Melissa June

The Enemy

Fighting against an enemy
a demon that will not let me be
trying to take control
on a mission to destroy my soul
slowly forgetting who I really am
who I really am may have just been a sham
a warm smile that then turns cold
helping hands no longer out to hold
the person you thought I was has been taken over
by a demon thats been undercover
once brave, I am now afraid
now lost within, unable to be saved
in a mind that's troubled
there's a personality that's now doubled
for what I thought to be a demon, was really just me
sadly, I am my own worst enemy.
