The Escape Poem by Reanna Thornton

The Escape

The innocent leaves the world of darkness and coldness behind.

She has won her freedom and her life.

Never again will they control her, abuse her, and tear her soul

They had their chance and their time but now the innocent if free.

She is her own self and no one will contain her, no longer

She is stronger, bolder and in control.

No more crushing blows, no more tear downs,

She will survive and live her dreams till the day she dies.

Away from the Giant, away from the Dragon, away from the pain.

She will make her mark on this earth and there will be no one that will ever crush her again.

She will make them see, the ones that contained her

Tried to make her into their puppet to dance when they said dance.

She will rule that world that is her life and no one will ever take that away from her again.

The scars have healed and the wounds are mended,

Battle scars to prove that she will make it.

The Dragon is slayen and the Giant has fallen,

The Phoenix has risen from the ashes of darkness, cold, pain, and blood.

The Phoenix will rule this life and no one will scar her again
