The Express Train To Nowhere Poem by Daniel CJ Grant

The Express Train To Nowhere

too many
take,
take
the express train to nowhere.

with
melancholy mind
and
an unsatisfied soul,
they take
the express train to nowhere
believing it’s
their,
their
only option.

squeal the
brakes,
yank on the
horn,
stop
the express train
before it gets to
nowhere,
because you are
here,
here
in this world
filled with
flowers
cookies
hugs
walks
cigars
sun
cement
barefoot snuggling
and
failed juggling
it’s
here,
here
now.

ride that
train
off the rails
it will
teach you
to get
up,
up
and fight
up
and learn
up
and love
up
and hope
up
and laugh
up
and live.

the train
can
always
be rebuilt
and
put back
on
the rails,
but
it can
never,
never
be brought
back
from
the land
of
nowhere.
