The Farm Lane Poem by Julian Mann

The Farm Lane

Running, walking, standing,
We were always together,
Down the farm lane
In the sweet hedged weather.

Oh, we knew delight
Under silver-clouded night
When we found each other's lips again
In the dark down the farm lane.

Side by side, or one leading
The other with a hand
Breezy to the touch, and fleeting
Like meadow wind in woodland.

Oh, we knew delight
Under silver-clouded night
When we found each other's lips again
In the dark down the farm lane.
