The Farmer’s Daughter Poem by Marilyn Lott

The Farmer’s Daughter

Rating: 5.0

He was ready to meet the lady
That could perhaps be his mate
Or just a moment of passion
Didn’t know he’d meet his fate

A guy called the Perpetrator
Got a gal to be part of the trick
He also found the Victim
Found a place to make the ‘hit’

Spruced up and oh so handsome
The Victim planned to use his charms
For the farmer’s daughter would likely
End up in his masculine arms

On a dark night the Victim circled
The deserted barn to meet the girl
If everything went well
Well, he’d sure give this girl a whirl

Knowing she had a tyrant father
Along with a couple of vicious dogs
He’d have to be so careful
In the darkened murky fog

With the stage all finally set
The poor guy didn’t know
That there was an audience of people
Who came to watch the show!
