The Fast And The Slow Poem by Herbert Dry

The Fast And The Slow

On a quiet and moonlit
night
A rabbit and a turtle squared
off to fight

Fast against slow, slow against
fast
The raccoon and the opossum both
agreed this fight won't
last

The rule for the fight would be
no rules at all
Around the turtle the rabbit hopped
getting ready for
a brawl

Into his shell the turtle made
his retreat
Looking through a tiny crack the
turtle watched the
rabbit's feet

Around and around the turtle the
rabbit ran
It's been thirty minutes sense this
fight began

The rabbit fell no longer could
he go
The turtle advanced crawling
will slow

Sneaking upon the rabbit the turtle
bit the rabbit's
lip
The rabbit jumped up done a double
back flip

As fast as the rabbit could go into
the forest to
hide
The turtle won the fight from the rabbit
victory did slide
