The Fellow From Namibia Poem by Francis Duggan

The Fellow From Namibia

The fellow from Namibia his skin as dark as coal
And he is such a good sort a kind and gentle soul
And when he smiles his beaming smile his teeth show white as snow
And he's well liked in his neighbourhood and by all who of him know.

From Boronia in Victoria to Namibia may seem quite a long way
But he does not feel Homesick for his Hometown of Walvis Bay
His wife and Children Aussies and in Boronia he will stay
Until the reaper who will claim us all will too claim him one day.

The fellow from Namibia stands six foot and ten inches tall
And beside him some of the locals to say the least seem small
His twelve year old son plays tennis and his daughter a budding tennis star
And in the sporting World who knows they might go far.

The fellow from Namibia of any hang ups free
And he's a well liked person who makes friends easily
And he is one you always see with a smile on his face
And if everyone were like him the World would be a better place.
