The Fickle Trust Poem by sunil kumars

The Fickle Trust

Rating: 5.0

I thought I knew you
For your eyes bore my face
I thought I heard you
For you told me so
I thought I sensed you
For my love oozed through your sweat pores
You called me your world
And told me so till I believed
Yesterday saw the crack on the wall
Today rubble so tall
Tomorrow can’t fathom the pain yet
An accidental aberration you coined
A moment of misplaced weakness
That’s all it took! ! ! !
Crust of trust came crumbling down
Dust will one day settle
Over tears of my broken heart! !
Pressed my eyes ever so tight
To make belief it’s a dream
Black and dark but a dream
Till my cheeks get wet again
And makes me realize
Queen has left the honey coomb
And all that sweet honey too
All that’s left is an empty
Bundle of wax
For me to mould again
