The Fire In Our Hearts
The fire in our hearts
As in hearth
It burnt
As in lank chimneys
In the winter storms.
My love
I looked to you
Spoke not
You understood.
We did.
We knew.
And
Heavens smiled on us
At last
And on the charred
Remains
Of years of agony
We smiled too
