The First Time I Saw You. Poem by Mishack Mchunu

Like the sun I felt your heat from a distance
When you rose from the street, I tried to stare
But my eyes couldn't bare yours, your fragrance
Took my breath away, couldn't catch it, I ran out of air!

I found myself dressing better and
Thinking smarter, I felt strong and motivated
And it's all because for a moment you were in my mind
I became positive about life with your love I am infected!

But I am left with a pain of knowing I might not see you again
And steal you with my eyes once more
Sweat and be wet like I am standing in the rain.
Truly I feel a loss of something I never gained before!

And if by chance or love's coincidence you read this verse
Just know that if I was God I would make you miss universe.
