The Flag Poem by Fereydoun Farrokhzad

The Flag

If my heart is broken
It will not be the death of the warmates

Iran, will always be,
Where ever there will be a salute,
And in the depth of that salute,
Will be a message of dignity.

They had come
And had slaughtered the Iranian Roots
And due to the crime of Love,
Had shed our Persian Blood

Our cries were broken,
In the throats of thousands of men.
What has left of my nation,
Beside the black silence of pain?!

Even though our Lion and Sun Flag,
Was torn apart like the pieces of our hopes,
We are still living for the human dignity,
We will uprise in the name of the Iranian History.

Do not abandon the love, because you are alone in Iran.
I am by your side and you are in our thoughts.

Iran, will always be,
Where ever there will be a salute,
And in the depth of that salute,
Will be a message of dignity.

Now, is our time,
The time for 'Kaveh The Ironsmith',
In war against the oppression,
Against another 'Zahak'!

One thing is clear,
We are fighting for Iran
Iran is ours
We have ties to Iran

Even though our Lion and Sun Flag,
Was torn apart like the pieces of our hopes,
We are still living for the human dignity,
We will uprise in the name of the Iranian History.

Even though our Lion and Sun Flag,
Was torn apart like the pieces of our hopes,
We are still living for the human dignity,
We will uprise in the name of the Iranian History.
