The Flaws In Others Poem by Francis Duggan

The Flaws In Others

The flaws in others in ourselves we do see
And I dislike in them what I dislike in me
The weaknesses in others are not hard to find
But most in their own ways can be very kind
The societies we live in ourselves we create
And flawed people like ourselves we do celebrate
The winners in life on the day they die fail
We all end up weary old looking and frail
And though to our own flaws we mostly seem blind
Some of the flaws we see in others us of our own flaws remind
The most celebrated people in some ways are no different to you and to I
They too are mere mortals just born to die
And the flaws we see in others in our own selves we see
Though many with that assumption may well disagree.
