The Flute Player Poem by VICTORIA HEIM

The Flute Player

The Flute Player

The golden Eagle flies
High up toward the sky
The song of the eagle
A prayer for the People
You are strong
You are brave
Be proud of your heritage
Drum and drummer
Unites us to our
Mother Earth
The appearance of the hawk, a sign we are
Caretakers of nature's blessings
The Flute Player, plays and
nature sings
The Great Spirit
Inspires us to be thankful for the animals
Grateful for nature's gifts
for the
People Of The Shining Mountains

For the Ute People, the longest living residents in the state of Colorado
