The Foot Operation
I am at your mercy, Sir -
all my life and being is there
at that one point in the foot, Sir
My foot - nay, my old life -
is in your hands, Sir
Here I have known pain
and what it is to be but a worm
and from here I shall renounce
all arrogance, Sir -
and will be all humility
from head down to the feet
