The Forgotten One Poem by Joshua Mccoy

The Forgotten One

For that small sapling
Who never had a voice
Silently uttered cries ignored
And forced to accept death without a choice

You pass by in a rush
Without giving a second thought or care
But more than happy to liter
And bury innocence in a plastic coffin with the trash you share

Would you abandon a helpless newborn
The same way you would spray paint a tree?
You have massacred many like a second holocaust
And all they humbly ask is that you leave them be

No one cares for the defenseless
No one gives with a pure heart
No more letting them suffer in agonizing silence
Its time to give a helping hand and do your part
I may be alone, but I am a returning hero with a new mission to start,
Keeping this god forsaken garden from falling completely apart.
