The Funeral Of Time

The Funeral of Time
Vaatupura A. Jayprakash

It all goes by like a genuine, flashy thought
That comes and passes as we never expect
In crowd and cluster they all stood by.

Some sad, some sanguine, some so unfeeling
Nowhere was one who could be thinking like
All these are for all and no one is here for ever.

The moments that fell there like dead leaves
Seemed gathering at a place, and became time.
That was long enough to make a life and let it die.

As the one that stood afar went far and far off
The one that fell by the graveyard gave no fear
To any, and it all looked like time was falling dead.

Things will go by as if nothing has ever happened
That which we come in line with is ‘time is the thing'.
