The Future
I sit here
Dreaming of the future
A bright, beautiful future
Is all I can ever dream of
But in reality
I face failure
Brutal, treacherous
Failure
That bright, beautiful future
Feels as though it's slipping away
Seamlessly
Like it was never even a possibility
I sit here
Analyzing everything I do
Everything I want to do
And the way I will get it
I know now
That I have to change my ways
Change my habits
If I am to ever get my dream
That beautiful dream
That wondrous, perfect future
Is all I've ever wanted
And all I will ever want
