The Galaxy Moves (For Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, Former President Of India) Poem by Anita Shanti Joseph

The Galaxy Moves (For Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, Former President Of India)

O Lord!
A Little galaxy moves in me
Lord I know every element builds
A chain reaction sets off
The atom spins
But I am a nucleus of indifference
Such sins like Hiroshima
And the Holocaust march in
I watch it build and break
Each cell in my body yells
Is life beyond matter?
Your words like water flow
And fill the earth
A transparent glass
The net
In which I see the image
My soul wanders in the heavenly abodes
Seeking to know –
The compass her needle swerves
Directions of a higher intelligence shows
Which moves a wafer in the air
Putting my breath on hold
Man I am bold
I explore, I explode, I wink
The sweet mysteries of life
You alone are alive
Your love like ether
Brushes and burns in me
Oh Lord there is in me
Myriad galaxies
I am a window to the outer world
Peeping through your eyes
Radiation pain and suffering
Chain-coded radio signals
The past slips her gloves
Time moves back in swirls
In a supernova
The words rebound
I know the warm heart of love
How it feels – how it sinks
What does it matter?
What matter is me!
A little dead red dust
Corrodes man’s iron heart; my womb a black hole!
As the woman in me cries
And I would like to walk with the sun moon and stars
Lord I know, I just know my senses reason to me
I am a little galaxy
What in the matter does it tell?
