The Ghost Of Impossible Love Poem by Uriah Hamilton

The Ghost Of Impossible Love

Rating: 5.0

I dreamt of you in a dark night
Of hidden stars,
The mysterious light
That emanates from your eyes.

A day, years ago,
Walking upon the beach,
Drifting into love
And not knowing how to tell you.

The sound of the waves
And my heart beating at midnight,
The tender moment vanishes forever
If there is not a kiss.

Former lovers always crowd the air,
Your pearl necklace and perfume,
I imbibed your essence
But knew someone else was on your mind.

I mostly allow myself to forget such thoughts,
But this exquisite longing returns without warning,
The ghost of impossible love.
