The Gift Poem by Casey Renee Kiser / snail viXen

The Gift

Rating: 5.0

What is it about today?
I don't want to be anyone else
All I can taste is today
This IS the day I don't need heels
to walk all over you

Stuttering adrenaline
snowboarding in my mind
Right into the pit
of tomorrow's depression

I am among those
who have a distorted reflection
I am among those
who prefer emptiness to perfection
I am among those
who frown to stay sane
I am among those
who know themselves best in the rain

So little time for love
when you spend all of your time
forgetting to breathe

Ideas rushing
No filter
Pure energy from madness...
The only thing my mother ever gave me

What is it about today?
