The Gift Poem by Noren Bagundol

The Gift

I was once an empty shadow,
Lurking in the night,
Groping in the dark,
Trying to find my way out.

Obstructions are on my way,
Not even a single passageway is present,
To get me out from this ever vast,
Dimension of emptiness.

Just when I thought no one cares,
Just when I thought no one will help,
A thing from an undescribable beauty,
Appeared to me and gave me hope once again.

A simple thing to many,
A thing of the greatest help to the few,
A thing that can be put in the corner,
But a treasure to someone whose heart is pure.

There I found my refuge,
From the immensible things of negativeness,
Trying to escape from the embrace of gloominess,
Trying to spread my wings to welcome the rays of the loving sun.

Just when a realization strucked me,
It's like I see myself from this meaningful thing,
In my hand I'm holding,
Something which reflects myself within.

The joyful days where worries fade,
And only smile conquering my face,
While I sing mirthful songs,
That cherish my heart and soul.

During the days of sorrowness,
I let the unlively breeze,
Touch my face with flooding tears,
Drowning myself with lots of pain.

But world changes,
And so my feelings,
Not all the time joyous days prevail,
As well as the sad moments.

For when another day comes,
Splendid beginnings are about to start,
Say goodbye to the eyes once flooded with teardrops,
And a warm hello from the soft blanket of the word hope.

Life is but a cycle,
Joyfulness, sadness and gloriousness behold,
All you need is to be flexible,
While calling His name with sincerity and all.
