The Gift Poem by Hayley K...

The Gift

Rating: 5.0

As a tiny green frog napped on a giant dew drenched leaf,
the rustling of the trees in the wind cut his glorious dreams brief.
But what he awoke to was beyond his belief,
he was looking straight into the black dull eyes of the magnificent Chief.

The chief was what he was best known for,
inbetween the tree tops and the forest floor.
But his true name that God himself bestowed upon him,
not known by humans was the beautiful Kimore.

The Kimore was very powerful and kind,
and he helped the other animals by using his mind
And although he couldn't see for he was blind,
he was powerful enough to get the stars aligned.

The frog gazed into the Chief's eyes and saw they were bright,
then asked ' why are your eyes so different and light? '
The Kimore simply responded with his voice very slight,
he said, 'The Gods have just given me the glorious gift of sight.'

When the frog heard this joyous respond,
all his joys and happiness went far beyond.
he jumped off of the leaf and onto the Kimore,
they both still today have a great bond.
