The Gift Poem by Rodrigo Diaz

The Gift

If my love for you were the sky,
It would be too vast for this small earth.
If my love for you were the seas,
It would cover unfathomable depths.
If my love for you were a star,
It would be infinitely brighter than the sun.
If my love for you were the moon,
I'd lasso it down and set it at your feet.

If my love for you were anything,
It would be this ring,
Of sapphires as blue as your eyes,
And diamonds that sparkle like your heart,
A commitment to be your everything,
An acknowledgement that I've given everything,
Your acceptance to be forever mine.
