The Girl Poem by Lilly James

The Girl

I look into your eyes they apear empty,
Your smile gone I don't understand why,
What happened to the girl I once knew,

Have we truely come to this,
We have never been so silent,
Once bestfriends now sworn enemies,

Is this really because I didn't love you,
I couldn't I wasn't ready to be all yours,
It still scares me that I love you,

I keep looking for the girl I love,
I think I must be to late this isn't you,
I search but your gone, this new girl

She looks like you but I'm not convinced,
She has your body but is it you that I see,
She seems so fake to me not the girl I knew,

Remember that night you wanted a kiss,
We were so young those days long gone,
I said no believing it would protect you,

I just wasn't ready to love you,
You were my best friend
Now your just a stranger

I want to yell I'm sorry, as loud as I can
You would probably just be confused
Is this really cause I wouldn't kiss you

Two girls in love the story of my life
By not kissing you I ruined my life
That was my last chance I see that now

For the girl I once knew is no longer living
The girl is no longer herself but empty
The girl is consumed in drugs and sex

My best friend is now no longer you
I'm ready to love the girl who begged for a kiss
I'm just to late, the girl has become something new
