The Girl Magnet Poem by Modupeola Williams

The Girl Magnet

Rating: 5.0

He weaves a web with his dark lashes
All are caught by his light green eyes
Smiles his smiles, that are quite charming
He's honest and seems to tell no lies

With kind words he ties a rope
His laughter tugs at your heart
All these things, feelings at once
Threaten to pull you apart

Afraid to speak, lest all should know
It becomes your cross to bear
This burning secret you keep in your chest
You want not a soul to hear

Thoughts churn disturbing your rest
what now are you to do?

Free yourself from the silver threads
Become immune to his spell
Avoid where ever his foot treads
Run away, as if from hell

Place steel armour round your heart
To cut off all his ties
Look at him as if you feel nothing
Spill out defensive lies

With his dark lashes he weaves a web
Surely this love away must ebb
I will not lie forever among the captured flies
Caught by the honey of his beautiful eyes
