The Girl Of My Dreams Poem by Colin Burger

The Girl Of My Dreams

An angel fallen from heaven
She came into my life
She was my saving grace
And brought me back from strife
The feelings that I felt
Thoughts ran through my mind
She gave me hope, showed me friendship
She was sweet, gentle, and kind

As we talked, she listened
To the stories I have made
Some happy, some sad
Her compassion could never fade
I told her of my pains
She heard me cry, saw my tears
She saw me joyous, saw my despair
She knew my dreams and fears

With her deep caring eyes
She looks at me and asked
How could anyone endure so much
Those fates that I have masked
I tell her that it’s hard
That you get used to the pain
Though every fiber of my souI
Longed to be happy again

She gave me that happiness
I was happy to be alive
she showed me how to smile again
I finally had that drive
She talked to me like I was any other
She made me feel real
I honestly don’t know what to say to her
I wish I could break that seal

She looked at me with caring eyes
I told her “Tu est tres belle mademoiselle”
Tilting her head curiously she asked it’s meaning
To scared of what she’d think I replied “I dare not tell”
She stared back at me with a deep gaze
And somehow I knew she knew what I had said
I smiled, she looked away and played with her hair
And then I knew she would never be lead

One week, thats all it took
One week for her to change me
One week for me to fall for her
One week for me, in fear, to flee
She was sent from heaven above
An angel as it seems
She is the girl I love
She is the girl of my dreams
