The Girl Outside My Door(Never On My Doorstep) Poem by Jayson Howard

The Girl Outside My Door(Never On My Doorstep)

I saw you walking down the street.
I wish I was out there so we could meet.
I hope you will think of me,
no matter how bad or good your summer might be.
I hope you like the impression that I made,
so you’ll look forward to me in the next grade,
and I hope you like to lay awake at night,
because I’d like to lay awake by your side.
And I hope you will think of me,
no matter how bad or good your summer might be.

I’ll try to talk to you as often as I can.
I won’t give up until you hold my hand,
and I hope you will think of me,
no matter how many cloudy days you see.
I wish I could drive out to you,
just so we can find nothing to do,
and I hope you like to lay awake at night,
because I’d like to lay awake by your side.
I hope you will think of me,
no matter how many cloudy days you see.

When I saw you walking down the street,
I tried to get to my feet,
but I fell to my knees,
and I wish I was out there so we could meet.
I hope you will think of me,
no matter how bad or good your summer might be,
and I hope you will think of me,
no matter how many cloudy days you see.

And if I see you tomorrow, down the street,
you’ll no longer be the girl outside my door
and never on my door step. You’re so sweet.
I find you so neat, I’ll always get to my feet.

I hope you will think of me,
no matter how bad or good your summer might be,
and I hope you will think of me,
no matter how many cloudy days you see.
