the mistake that you made
still lingers in your voice

the year of your life
gone but not wasted

the drugs, the alcohol
trying to supress the pain
you can't hide the feelings from her

you smile, tell some truth
you don't want her to know
the emotions that flow with in you

you tell her of your day
but you don't see her feelings
you can't see the cuts
the scars that won't heal
you can't see her anymore
you can't see Daddy's little girl
