The Global Scene, Feb 2015 Poem by Dr John Celes

The Global Scene, Feb 2015

The scorching sun seems earlier back this year;
The measly bug is lurking in the leaves;
The mighty mist has made most tree-leaves brown;
The water from the pipes is hot by noon!

The elections can change the nation's fate;
New rules and regulations keep coming;
The price of common things is not yet curbed;
The common man is caught amidst chaos.

New governance can root out evils fast;
But poverty will stay as in the past;
More militant outfits strike more terror;
The unity of nations has suffered.

All seem to re-align in global scenes;
The fight against corruption continues;
The state of people has not changed one bit;
The fate of common man appears worse hit.

The polity can't go on speaking lies;
Crimes keep on rising; so are accidents;
The lives of citizens are endangered;
Respect for human life has touched nadir.

May God usher a miracle healing!
The blood of innocent lives cries to Him;
The rich are turning richer with much ease;
The world is losing brother-hood and peace.
