The Good Shepherd Poem by Terence George Craddock (Spectral Images and Images Of Light)

The Good Shepherd

Rating: 5.0

Why
assist others
so much

give so freely
of commodity
wisdom?

So painfully gained?

So that others
may
suffer less

though shepherd
suffered
in humanity infinitely

more.

Thou art but an immaterial shield?

Why assist others
so much
give so freely

wisdom
partaking
waters?

Shepherd borne responsibility sacrifice?

So that tormented
tortured flesh
may suffer less

though divine shepherd
suffered endured as did
subsequent numerous

seasons chosen.

Shorn shocked hopeful faithful flocks?

Word of love
from the beginning
proved to be

faith incarnate in flesh
endured sin weight
redeemer of centuries.
