I've known the haunting of things past
The haunting of her image burned into My mind
To take what's given is a true treasure
One that I will never forget
She haunted My mind for many years
always close but never truly near
she was always just within grasp
but yet too far away to hold
I will never forget that wonderful smile
all the little things that only I noticed
no one else took the time
to show her My love, passion, darkness, too many to even mention
she knew them all and carefully held tight
never to let go
Forever I miss you and you know that
I will go on as you request
My tears run down My weathered cheek
MY love never dies as a few do know
But I must be strong and carry on
The darkness comes sweeping in with no sound
but your presence is always around
To reach out to darkness only to find empty space
My thoughts are with you always
